Liberty Is Still Worth It

I was thinking of what I could say about this morning's bombings in London, but then I saw The Nightfly's post titled Liberty Is Still Worth It, and I realized he'd said it better than I ever could.

I also appreciate Miss O'Hara's post titled Standing With London. She suggests we all fly the Union Jack today in support of our British allies. I agree.

Finally, Captain Ed at Captain's Quarters has printed the lyrics to "Rule Britannia." I find the chorus and the first three verses especially relevant:

Chorus
Rule, Britannia, Britannia rule the waves,
Britons never will be slaves!

The Nations (not so blest as thee)
Must in their turns to Tyrants fall,
While thou shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.

Chorus

Still more majestick shalt thou rise,
More dreadful from each foreign stroke;
As the loud blast that tears the skies,
Serves but to root thy native oak.

Chorus

Thee, haughty Tyrants ne'er shall tame:
All their attempts to bend thee down,
Will but arouze thy gen'rous flame,
But work their woe, and thy renown.

An update: George Galloway, spineless MP, has decided to take up Pink Floyd's suggestion, trading a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage. What a dipwad.
